Custom Minifigures in the UK: What They Are and What to Check Before You Buy
Custom minifigures are figures designed independently — not by the big toy brands — and built from parts that are compatible with standard minifigure bricks. They let you collect characters, armour styles and colourways that official sets simply don't make.
Custom vs official
Official figures come from the brand that makes the bricks. Custom figures are made by independent designers and sellers. They fit on the same studs and stands, but they aren't made, sponsored or endorsed by LEGO® — a trustworthy seller will always say so clearly. (We do: every FigForge figure is an independent custom design.)
What to check before you buy
- Real photos of the actual figure, ideally from more than one angle — not just a single artwork image. Every FigForge figure is shown in our own photos, most from several angles.
- Clear postage costs before checkout. Ours: UK £3.50, free over £25; Europe £6; USA £9.50.
- A proper returns policy. UK buyers have 14 days to change their mind on most online orders — check the shop honours it. (Ours does.)
- Age labelling. Minifigures have small parts and aren't suitable for children under 3. Collectible figures are usually labelled 14+.
- Secure checkout — card, Apple Pay or Google Pay through a known payment provider, so the shop never sees your card details.
How much should they cost?
Prices vary a lot. Cheap mass-produced figures can be a pound or two; hand-printed one-off customs can be £20–£50+. Most collectors find the sweet spot is around £3.50–£6 a figure for detailed, printed figures — which is why we price every figure at £5, dropping to £3.50 each in a 10-pack.
